Even for those who don't want to play golf there are lots of opportunities to get involved within your local golf club. This could be designing the club's website, writing media releases for the local press, or on club commitees supporting juniors, the list is endless. Volunteers are vital to the health and development of golf without them, the future of the game at all levels would struggle to develop.

Volunteer of the Year 2011

If you are involved with golf or in partnership with the sport you can now make your nomination for the Golf Volunteer of the Year here. Seven different volunteer categories are available. The individuals are chosen as representative of the body of volunteers who contribute their time and effort, throughout the sport of golf in this country, within golf clubs, schools, county golf partnerships, training schemes and many other programmes. Golf Volunteerz’ is a student based volunteer team and was initially founded by three University of Birmingham students and has since expanded to a team of 16, with a majority studying Applied Golf Management Studies. Read on
